NSF-EPSCoR/IFN doctoral fellowships will be awarded only in the area of nanotechnology, in order to increase the number of graduates in this research area, thus making a significant contribution to the diversity of the nanotechnology workforce.

Application Requirements:
  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale
  • Evidence of Ph.D candidacy
  • Have previous research experience
  • Evidence of satisfactory academic progress according to the program’s schedule
  • Official transcript from undergraduate and graduate institutions
  • List of extracurricular activities
  • Statement of professional goals (1 page)
  • Brief thesis research proposal (3-4 pages) signed by IFN mentor
  • List of authored or co-authored publications and presentations
  • Two letters of recommendation (one must be from your IFN mentor and the other from a nanotechnology researcher)
  • Progress report from previous RCSE fellowships, if applicable
  • Fill out application form and submit with all required documents
